The Devastator is a civilian moped that is featured in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames.
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Devastator is a funny little motorcycle featured only in the mission of the same name. It is hidden behind a Mantis Light Tank, which fools the mercenary into thinking that the tank is the Devastator.
Tactics[edit | edit source]
The Devastator is a very weak vehicle in terms of combat effectiveness. With virtually no armor and completely unarmed, the only advantage the Devastator has is its speed.
The vehicle is only featured in one contract throughout the entire game, and the player is urged to ignore their attackers and get to safety.
If, for some unknown reason, the player wants it later in the game, it can be found by a building along the river the goes by the Allied Nations Headquarters. It is on the other side and farther north. (Confirmation needed)
Real life[edit | edit source]
The Devastator could be based on literally any moped in production.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- When riding it, the music changes to a kiddy song theme. UP soldiers will shout "Hey merc! Nice bike!" or, "Ooh careful, might be more bike than you can handle!"
- The UP military contractor describes the bike as "high-end equipment," "whipped up by the eggheads at one of our satellite facilities."
- When the player first gets on the Devastator, Fiona Taylor takes the time to make fun of the mercenary. Later though, she decides to keep it.
- If the player gets in the Mantis Light Tank, Fiona will say "That's NOT the Devastator. Keep looking around and you'll find it. This occurs whether you've found the moped or not.
