Yeong-il Cheon, also known as the Six of Diamonds, is a former tank commander of the KPA in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

ExOps Bio[edit | edit source]

Name: Yeong-il Cheong
"Captain Cheon is a former tank commander, responsible for establishing the training regiment for General Chang's armoured infantry division. Known for studying the deployment of US, AN and British armoured infantry divisions, his tactics remain untested in the field though he is highly respected for his keen insight into tactics and strategy."

Overview[edit | edit source]

Cheon's location is revealed through an e-mail sent by Josef. The Mafia think Cheon has been stationed somewhere south of The Black Gate. More precisely, Cheon is located very close to the gate, he is just south-east of it, at the end of a dirt road. At the start of the road, there will be Cargo Trucks and a barricade with a recoilless rifle, so be careful. Further along the road there will be three KPA soldiers, one of which is armed with an RPG, and a T-54 tank.

It would be wise to hijack the T-54 as it is right in front of a medium sized explosive fuel tank, and destroying it may set off a chain reaction that may kill the nearby HVT. After the tank has been dealt with, go after Cheon himself who is armed with a light machine gun and is guarded by a single KPA officer. The player however will have to be careful if they wish to verify Cheon alive as there is also storage for the tanks where he is that will more often than not spawn more tanks when the others are destroyed.

Subject: Captain Yeong-il Cheon, the 6 of Diamonds
Josef's come through for us again. He's given us the location of Captain Yeong-il Cheon, the 6 of Diamonds. This is the guy who trained Chang's men in tank operations. It'll be quite a coup to bring him in. Might not be too easy, though. He's stationed just south of Heuk Dae Moon...the Black gate, possibly the most fortified area in North Korea. Might not be a bad idea to get a look at the place while you're up there. Do some intel gathering of your own.

GSRN Report[edit | edit source]

Upon capturing/verifying the Six of Diamonds, GSRN Trucks will broadcast the following report:

"The Allies announced today the capture of former tank commander, Captain Yeong-il Cheon, the Six of Diamonds. Captain Cheon was a well known armored infantry tactician. His neutralization must come as a serious blow to General Chang and General Song."
