The Raven is Universal Petroleum's primary vehicle in Mercenaries 2. It resembles a large black pick-up truck, usually with a mounted weapon in the back of the vehicle. It is relatively strong, and can survive generous amounts of enemy fire. It can carry up to five people, making it a very useful vehicle to take into enemy bases to take advantage of the support. They can be bought from the stockpile on your Personal Digital Assistant, but it is much easier just to take one from the UP HQ or UP Outposts if you are friendly.
Real-Life
Without a doubt, the Raven is based on the Chevrolet Avalanche and/or the Cadillac Escalade EXT (hYbrid) . Either way, this is an odd choice for a military vehicle.
Armament
The standard Raven is equipped with a Browning M2HB .50 heavy machine gun with 300 rounds. It has a small arc of fire, similar to that of the Sungri Scout in Mercenaries: Playground Of Destruction, putting it at a disadvantage when fighting opposing vehicles.
Variants
While the standard raven is equipped with a .50 caliber heavy machine gun there is a GL variant armed with a 40mm grenade launcher making it useful in clearing blockades in front and dispersing of enemy soldiers as well as vehicles. There is also a anti-tank variant armed with a BGM-71 TOW missile launcher. It is easily recognizable due to the thick, green barrel and the large sighting device of the missile launcher.
