The Nanchang Q-5 is a People's Liberation Army fighter-bomber featured in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames.

This aircraft appears in the game after the People's Liberation Army and Allied Nations invade Venezuela. It may be seen across the map, and seems to appear slightly more frequently in the Chinese controlled far-eastern region. It appears as a generic aircraft icon on the mini-map, and generally disappears from view within five to ten seconds.

It is known by its NATO reporting name 'Fantan.'

The Q-5 is not flyable by the player and can not be shot down, although Anti-air missiles may lock onto it.

Real lifeEdit

The Q-5 is flown by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force and Naval Air Force, as well as nations such as Sudan and Myanmar. In PLAAF/PLANAF service, it has been augmented by the JH-7 'Flounder' attack bomber.
