The Mi-17 Transport is a North Korean transport helicopter featured in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.
Overview[]
The Mi-17 Transport is a large, brown, unarmed helicopter that has a carrying capacity of 5 units: 1 pilot and 4 passengers. It is capable of lifting medium weight cargo such as light vehicles like the Sungri Scout jeep to the Cargo Truck, but it's also able to lift the K200 APC.
The Korean Mi-17 is never encountered in the Southern Province. It can be found only in the Northern Province, specifically during a challenge in Yongbyon, which respawns every time the challenge is accepted, and in a North Korean outpost north-east of the Changsong Train Station. It can also be seen during the Russian Mafia contract 'Escort Service'.
Tactics[]
As it is a transport helicopter, the Mi-17 is slow and has no weapons, making it vulnerable to enemy fire, especially anti-aircraft weaponry. It is, however, useful for transporting friendly soldiers behind enemy lines, as the player can become disguised as North Korean and drop troops behind the enemy.
