The codes

Manipulate the Data is the seventh contract for the Chinese and the first for them in the Northern Province of North Korea during the third act of Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The contract involves stealing South Korean communication codes and delivering those codes to the Chinese HQ in Dandong.

Objectives[edit | edit source]

  1. Download codes
  2. Bring codes to Dandong

Supplies & Support Given[edit | edit source]

The Contract[edit | edit source]

The codes are located in a heavily defended outpost just east of Sinuiju Farms, in the area normally controlled by the North Koreans. The outpost is heavily guarded, with three K200 APCs, 707th commandos, many MG and recoilless rifle turrets, SAM launcher soldiers, and many officers, making a disguised entrance almost impossible.

The outpost entrance

The best route is to drive around the outpost to the right on the eastern side where there will be a small hill that can be easily climbed with a fast vehicle. Once on top, circle around to where the codes are located and run towards them. The SK forces will open fire on you but there are are only a few, and none of the MG nests will be pointed in your direction. Stand next to the computers, download the codes and stay still until the download finishes (it will be interrupted if you move too far). When it finishes quickly hop back into your vehicle and make your exit. Note that once the download completes two RPG soldiers and many commandos will come running up the hill to intercept you so be careful. Head towards the drop off point in Dandong and complete the contract.

The contract value is $100,000. Completing this contract will make the Vehicle Support Drop available for purchase from the Merchant of Menace. Intel regarding the location of the Four of Hearts will also be given.

The Colonel is fidgety about sending those codes remotely from within the outpost so you'll have to bring them to the Chinese HQ. Sorry about that
