The K200 APC is a South Korean Armored Fighting Vehicle (AFV) featured in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

Overview[]

"One of a number of Korean armored fighting vehicles, the K200 mounts a 30mm auto cannon for defense and carries up to four pasengers."
— Merchant of Menace store description

The K200 is one of the strongest APCs available in the game.

It can be described as a large, square block of tracked steel. It is armed with a rotating 20mm cannon that fires explosive rounds, with a surprisingly high rate of fire, and is a dangerous weapon in the hands of a skilled player.

K200 APCs can be seen for the first time during the second act of the game, parked inside the Ichon airfield during and after the contract 'Master of None', or during the contract 'Playing the Odds' attacking the NK Base. There is also one K200 assaulting the Chinese officers in the contract 'Persuasion' that must be destroyed. In the Northern Province it is found mainly in the Chongju Airfield, Downtown Sinuiju and the Korean Outpost.

Completing the contract 'Clear Channel' will make this vehicle available for purchase from the Merchant of Menace for $48,000-$67,200.

Trading a K200 into the Russian mafia will net you around $12,000 if it's in good condition.

Tactics[]

Moving at a moderately good speed, the K200 is capable of attacking many installations and completing many missions easily. Besides this, the K200 also carries up to four soldiers in the rear compartment and can protect them alongside with the driver from radiations thanks to its NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) shielding. For many missions, the firepower offered by the K200 is more than enough, and the armor is completely resilient to small arms but it can still be taken down by anti-tank weaponry. The K200 is very effective against light targets like infantry and light vehicles but falls short against more armored tanks. Compared to other tracked APCs, the K200 is rather light and can thus be lifted by helicopters quite easily.

Real life[]

The K200 APC is based on the K200 Vulcan KIFV.
