This type of Guardian replaces the signature 7.62mm Minigun for a 25mm gun turret with only 300 rounds of ammunition and has no coaxial heavy machine gun.

It looks like a counterpart of the Salamander APC of the People's Liberation Army. The APC is rarely seen in the game, but it occasionally makes an appearance patrolling Caracas.

Like all Guardians it has weak armor and will not withstand heavy firefights, it sacrifices armor and firepower for mobility.

Tactics[]

The Guardian 25mm is difficult to use under combat situations.

The Guardian 25mm barely surpasses the PLA Salamander APC. It has the same rate of fire on the gun, but much weaker armor and the rear is a significant weak point.

The Guardian 25mm will run out of ammo very quick when against infantry and light vehicles and lacks firepower against heavy armor, due to the single gun used for anything, unlike other vehicles where the coaxial machine guns are usually anti-infantry.

Contrary to the in game description, this APC is not great against helicopters. The 25mm rounds have a low velocity and inaccurate trajectory at long ranges; therefore it will miss a lot and waste a lot of ammunition taking down a single helicopter. As a matter of fact, any armed helicopter is much like a threat to take this vehicle down. However, an advantage over the basic Guardian is that it is able to damage buildings and type 3 and 4 armor vehicles.

Real Life[]

The Guardian 25mm is based on the M1126 Stryker ICV, while its weapon configuration resembles that of the Canadian LAV-3, without a coaxial machine gun.
