The Global Satellite Reporting Network is featured prominently in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. They provide a global news network that provides news services to military installations and civilians during the Song Initiative in North Korea.

The organization embedded several reporters during the fight and was one of the only networks that received a copy of the tape showing General Song meeting with his inferiors.

Following the capture of the four "Aces," Adrianna Livingston, reports from inside a UH-60 Transport on the capture of Song and the destruction caused by the fighting. The reports of GSRN can also be heard at any of the GSRN Trucks nearby.

Every time the player captures or kills a member of the Deck of 52, a report about it can be heard from the trucks. The involvement of the mercenary is always covered up by the involvement of the Allied Nations (AN) instead to avoid the controversy that the AN has become desperate and turned to hiring private contractors.

The GSRN is considered a major nuisance to the Allies during the war in North Korea, especially by the AN commander. The AN did not want people to know that, in their desperation to capture General Song, they were using private contractors, so they either lied to the public about the mercenary, paid off the reporters, or did jobs for them to keep them off their backs.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames[]

The GSRN do not have as much of a presence in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames as they did in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, however on a few relatively rare occasions the player may hear some GSRN reports on the television next to Fiona's desk.

All of the television broadcasts that are shown throughout the game are broadcasted via GSRN satellite.
