The General Carmona Bridge is a large suspension bridge that connects the metropolitan area and suburbs of Maracaibo.

Overview[]

The General Carmona Bridge is one of two suspension bridges

Altagracia-Maracaibo by B-2

in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. The other is the Viaduct Bridge.

When Solano came to power, this bridge was renamed by Solano after General Carmona . It is unknown what the bridge was originally called.

This bridge is the road shortcut from Maracaibo to Altagracia and the Oil Refineries, the amount of time taken to travel from Maracaibo to Altagracia is greatly reduced than if the player drives on the Maracaibo Coast Highway. The Bridge appears to be a Universal Petroleum asset, this can be noticed by altering relations with UP and pointing the reticule at the bridge, the player should notice a change in hostile/friendly (red/white/blue) designation.

The bridge can be destroyed but it will be repaired upon loading the save, exceptions apply if the player completes the Price of Gas.

Ignore the blue target (it's a separate bounty)

The Price of Gas[]

General Peng offers a contract to destroy several Universal Petroleum assets of very high importance including the Bridge itself. If the player accepts and completes the contract, the bridge will be destroyed permanently. The purpose of taking out the bridge is to stop fuel from reaching Allied forces in Caracas

Real Life[]

It is very likely that it is based on the real life Puente General Rafael Urdaneta (Spanish for General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge).
