Joo-eun An, also known as the Four of Spades, is one of Song's bodyguards and a member of the North Korean Special Forces in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

ExOps bio[edit | edit source]

Name: Joo-eun An
"An is the daughter of a North Korean minister who proudly enrolled his daughter in the DPRK's special forces program. It should be noted that virtually all of Song's army, particularly the elite soldiers both male and female, are deeply, deeply patriotic. A product of a propaganda-soaked upbringing."

Overview[edit | edit source]

An can be found in the Northern Province of North Korea along with the Hearts, but she and the other Spades can only be verified after the Ace of Hearts contract has been completed.

Her exact location is north-east of Unsan Village, just outside the river that encircles the village, or far north-west of Yongbyon. She is seen near a single, small tent by a small pile of rubble with a waterfall nearby. Her location can only be reached with a helicopter practically, which is likely why she is armed with a Stinger missile launcher. Her location can be reached using an alternative, although highly impractical and difficult.

Joo-eun An is not protected by any NK forces. She only has her single anti-air weapon to defend herself.

She is the least defended bounty in the entire game, with no vehicles or nearby soldiers to protect her. She won't even attack the player directly unless they are inside a helicopter.

Email Message[edit | edit source]

Sender: Fiona Taylor
Subject: Joo-eun An, the 4 of Spades
I just received an interesting phone call. Someone speaking with a very heavy Russian accent said: "Joo-eun An, northwest of Yongbyon." A not-too-subtle hint from out friend Josef? Or at least, one of his agents. Joo-eun An is the 4 of Spades, another highly trained operative in Song's special forces squad. These are lethally trained operatives. Try not to get shot up.

GSRN Report[edit | edit source]

Upon capturing/verifying the Four of Spades, GSRN Trucks will broadcast the following report:

"Though her troops surrendered after heavy fighting with Allied soldiers, Joo-eun An, AKA the Four of Spades, daughter of one of North Korea's most distinguished ministers, continued to fight, costing many Allied soldiers their lives. Her capture last night comes as a great personal victory for Colonel Garrett and his men."

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The email message has a typo in it. It says "...hint from out friend...," it should say "...hint from our friend..."
