So i was trying to take down the six of spades. Theres a small team of AN soldiers there that are not armed. Next to them there is a supply crate with ammo inside, except that its not the actuall ammo. They are grenades. If you pick em up you switch between your current grenades. By default you have 6-6. With this you will have 12 lethal or non lethal total. But after you take down the six of spades they disappear forever. I guess this is a glitch because until my next playthrough i wont be able to get any flash grenades again. It might get fixed after you star the second playthrough but im not sure. Does anyone know if i can somehow undo the 12 grenade glitch ?
What's on your mind?
Can someone who owns the ps2 versions of mercs 1&2 upload a picture of the save data icons in the ps2's memory card browser?
I was looking through the spare parts wiki post and saw that only crypto and the mercs wiki were mentioned in the trivia... i added 2 more things into the trivia bit
Guys, I tried editing a page recently but the wiki won't let me. Is someone here having the same issue? I have already talked with the mod but he doesn't know the reason. Any help would be appreciated.
I loved these games when I was a kid, picked them up again recently and I've been having a blast reliving old memories. I was disappointed to see that there's no Mercenaries community on Reddit so I decided to make one. If you're looking for another place to talk about Mercenaries check out the new subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/MercenariesGames/
Hello everyone! I have recently made a new discovery and i wanted to share it with all of you here.
Back in 2007 there was a mobile port for Mercenaries 2 on old phones (YES, those things that didn't break no matter what you did to them) and no, i'm not drunk, here is the proof: https://www.ign.com/articles/2007/11/28/mercenaries-2-to-mobile
I tried out the game and, i should say this was a pretty interesting find and i think i'm gonna write a new page on this wiki for this port later.
Btw guys if you want to play this game you can download it from here: https://phoneky.com/games/?id=j4j46284
Use this app to play it on android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.playsoftware.j2meloader&hl=en&gl=US
If you have any question on how to set up the emulator feel free to ask!
Edit: I added the page! You can find it here: https://mercenaries.fandom.com/wiki/Mercenaries_2_Mobile
Anyways i hope you guys like it but if you think it's inappropiate then you are free to remove it!
Hope everyone is in good health!
Well, I'm very upset with Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction version for XBOX ONE. Each day I play I find a new bug. And today the issue is kinda blocking me to advance further, so I decided to ask for help here.
I wanted to know whether anyone has any solution to any of the bugs listed below, being the first two the most problematic to me and those that got me truly upset:
After almost 100 hours of game my save file no longer records my position in the map, regardless I am close to an HQ. I always spawn at Kusong MASH, even if I am at the South Province!
My minimap has completely crashed! The sprites are now gray squares for everything (ally or foe helis, SAMs, HQs, mission objectives, etc, except for challeges that are still a "$"). And the worst thing is that this is irreversible. It doesn't matter if I restart the game, load another save file or start a new game. The core of the game has crashed somehow and now my minimap is useless.
Helis spontaneously blows in the air, specially in the city of Dandong. For some reason, the chinese helis above Dandong randomly explodes and fall above you on fire. And this happens very often. If you stay in Dandong for a while many helis will fall over your head. Nevertheless, I have faced this bug in other cities as well, even in south province, but these are very seldom.
4x MD-500 spawns at the exact same spot in Downtown Pyongyang, making them crash at each other. This is very funny, actually, and they do not explode. But it is still very bizarre.
This is rare, but happens: If you want to fly a YAH-56 Gunship (the Apache imitation) the easiest way is to kill the pilot and wait for it to crash without blowing up. However, there is a small chance that after you enter the heli it will slowly and endlessly accelerate on its own (as if you were continuously pressing A very softly). The problem is that you start to endlessly gain altitude and cannot ditch out. As if you were tied up to a giant helium balloon, hahaha...
Very often destroying vehicles doesn't count on your statistics, even if you earn the money for a NK vehicle. This does not happen when killing people or driving. Why?
Frozen NPCs: At the max distance of renderization you can see NPCs simply standing as a stopped silhuete, as if they were frozen. They are even flying sometimes. However, if you approach them, or use the binoculars, they start to move. What's more weird is that those that were flying often fall and die! I mean, what the ****???
Suicidal civilians: I remember playing this game on PS2 and there were suicidal civilians as well, but on a minor scale. On this version, the citizens are completely crazy! They cross the street in front of your car everytime, and you end up killing them and paying the fine. Also, very often they throw their own vehicles in the water, whether you are driving somewhat close to them.
Various minor bugs which I would take a whole day to describe them up.
Can someone help me with these? Specially the top two of the list are very annoying bugs and are almost making me to give up this game and ask for a cashback, whether it is possible, lol.
Honestly, the Diplomat is the best for the democratic side of the fight for VZ, but it suffers from its height. The Iron Mountain Heavy Tank is the opposite of the Diplomat, being low to the ground. However, we can't forget the VZ Heavy tank. Based off the AMX-30 (Upgraded with reactive armor and a 30mm cannon instead of a MG), the VZ Heavy tank doesn't pack a punch against the Diplomat or the Iron Mountain. The Cavelara, despite it being outdated, is good in a fight, if you're fighting the Chinese, watch out for the Fuel-Air Launchers and use your mobility to out run the traversing rate of heavier vehicles. If you're fighting the Allies, engage from long distance and call in Combat Air Patrol against the Ambassador, unless you somehow angle the tank and score a few hits on the attack helicopter, it will rip you up. If you go for an IFV or an APC, use your enhanced mobility further, and get on top of tanks and other vehicles. It won't credit you with the kill (Than again, do you run over a vehicle and get a kill in the game) my only complaint about said vehicles is the fact it takes forever to destroy a fortified building, such as a rocket building. Use the cannon on armored targets and try to flank around to the back of the vehicle and lay into the engine with guns ablazing, keep in mind the AI are programmed to keep the front of heavy vehicles facing you, which requires some creative thinking. If you come across two heavy tanks (Pray you don't) treat them like Halo Hunters, use the other as cover while you plant C4 or attach a radio beacon, than run away, take cover and hope you disable them both.
I checked the Fandom page for cheats and there is a tip that they had only been tested on PS2.
With the backwards compatibility release for Xbox Game Pass I have them and a test and they work on Xbox One as well
To be honest, the beginner Heli's are a little under powered, and the pilot can get shot through the glass (except the Anaconda and Condor). To me the best heli is the Anaconda. Any opinions or thoughts?
I'm going to make a discord channel centred around the games. I doubt I'll get more members than I can count on my hands but if there's someone, anyone, I'll happily speak to them about this game; my favourite one ever.
Anyone interested in joining, here's the link:
Can't say I'm ambitious but the ability to speak to anyone, I'll be very grateful for. If I learn there already is a more established server, I'll probably take this one down. Till then, seeya friends.
A relatively common thing in Mercenaries 1 and a pretty vital one, appearing in several missions and nearby many notable HVTs such as the 10 of diamonds and the 3 of diamonds, both of whom are accompanied by both tank bunkers and some nearby troop tunnels. Was just asking because they're pretty significant throughout the game and should have a page dedicated to them as I've not seen one
Here's what I do. This requires a bit of preparation, but does work.
Before you head to the ROK HQ, go to the area south of the steel bridge leading to the AN HQ, but on the west bank of the river. You will find an AN UH-60. Take it and fly it to the ROK HQ.
When you accept the mission, there will be a BJ-2020 scout, a crate and an ROK cargo truck. Move the truck out of the way. Break open the crate. Climb in the UH-60 and use the magnet to winch the BJ-2020.
Now, Climb to 400+ meters and head towards Nampo, but not exactly Nampo. Head for the summit mesa where you destroyed the DPRK communication center for China in their first contract. Set and release the BJ-2020 and land the helo.
Drive the jeep to the airport. Find the guy and get him in. Get out as fast as you can, but, instead of heading down the road towards the ROK HQ, drive back to the where you parked the helo. Transfer to that and fly to the ROK HQ. The yellow circle landing is very tetchy because the helo is not easy to maneuver, but can be done.
This is actually the easiest contract, IF, you plan ahead.
You MUST have a helo for this contract. Ideally, the DPRK MD-500 or Mafia MD-530 are what you want.
Fly directly over Taechon and the reactor area. When you clear the ridgeline to the north, drop down to wave top level and fly north while skirting the red zone. When you see a cliff, climb slowly and blow your horn, then move in low and slow to land. When you land, blow the horn for the agent to climb in. When he does, climb high and move south as quickly as possible to avoid the Type-95 AAMs. Head for the yellow circle, land and done.
Yes, this works. Works every time I try it.
I have found a way to avoid getting into the red with the Chinese while doing this mission.
It is NOT a cheap method, but it DOES work.
1. DO NOT USE the air strikes Buford gives you. You WILL get hammered.
2. DO NOT USE the Portable Air Strike cheat weapon. See 1.
This assumes that you have a helo at the start.
First, fly to the mountain range to the west of the dirt track that runs from Chongju to Sinuiju/Dandong. Take out the lone helo and the support goons. Go as far south of the pad as you can get while using the hills as cover. Buy a Surgical Strike and aim at Tent #2. You do not have to be able to clearly see the target itself, just the shadow. Fire.
Now, fly along the western side of the mountain range to a spot just south and below a DPRK outpost with 2 ZSU-57s. Buy 2 more Surgical Strikes to aim at Tents #3 and #4. Take them out.
Now, fly a bit south until you reach a small hilltop that is just stable enough to land on. This will allow you strike Tent #5 with yet another Surgical Strike. The reason you will need to relocate has to do with the fact that if you use the laser on Tent #5 so close, the strike will cause a Chinese Blackhawk (An S-70) to attack you as you will most likely be in a DPRK chopper.
Finally, fly due east until you are able to fly directly over the Kusong M*A*S*H and Allied HQ. When you just south of the HQ, fly over the mountain ridge until you are at the southernmost point and land. From there, you can buy a 5th Surgical Strike and have a clean aim for the laser on Tent #1.
Yes, this will cost a net of -$90,000 (if your Mafia status is maxed out), BUT, from several tries of experience, you will NOT get dinged as an enemy of China.

something i found in Mercs:POG while attacking an NK bunker, testing the shotgun, i saw the words, 'pick up grenades' so i picked them up, and now i have 12 lethal grenades, but no flashes (please note, it doesn't bother me one bit) i don't know what caused it, but i think it had to do with a crate or killing a nk soldier right after he hopped in a turret.
Saw some vehicles in the background of Alpha and Beta screenshots. A variation of the chinese scout car, a North Korean MLRS, and a Russian Mafia Mil Mi-28. Thought these were neat. Anybody got anymore?

Hello. I got nostalgia after playing Just Cause 3 and started looking up on this wiki. I saw the Mercenaries 3: No Limits demo and tried to dig up anything I could. I found this blog spot link when googling "Mercenaries 2 concept art" and was amazed to find this.
This guy, COURT CHU, worked on the entire series as a concept artist. http://artblogofcourtchu.blogspot.com/2015/03/war-is-game-part-1.html
He talks about the pro-military view of current pop-culture and not the series, unfortunately. So I'm going to speculate on what the art is showing.
-Mercenaries 3: No Limits was to take place in at least some of the United States, showing the mercenaries in Hollywood, Washington D.C. and NASA HQ in Florida.
-The guy in the demo is shown in a full body shot, he looks like a Native American. He was supposed to be the new guy, I think.
-A Blackfire mercenary, mentioned in the trailer, is also seen. Based on the patch on his arm. Some alternate heads has one of those Army of Two masks.
-Some of the storyboard images show the character of the demo fighting a jet. Maybe hinting that the sequel was going to have fighter jets.
-What I think is the most crazy of all is that the series wasn't supposed to be a new IP, but was to be "Desert Strike 2" a sequel to the Desert Strike on the Sega Genesis and Amiga.
Again this is all speculation, except the last part. I'm not going to take the pictures and post it here because it says at the bottom "All personal artwork is copyrighted by Court Chu unless otherwise noted".
EDIT: He changed the link so I changed it too.
